A powerful and unusual poetic work of profound spiritual intensity, deeply rooted in the realities of our contemporary world, The Defence of Jerusalem stands as a cry against the materialistic dehumanization of modern civilization and humanity's increasing distance from God.
Following the remarkable success of his acclaimed biblical trilogy (Judith, John the Baptist, and Pontius Pilate), Miro Gavran returns to spiritual themes - yet with even greater artistic force and urgency. In this work, he moves beyond his earlier Bible-inspired prose, embracing a different form and a strikingly direct, uncompromising voice.
This is a text that challenges, provokes, and awakens-offering a bold and unexpected literary experience that will engage even the most demanding readers.
