Deep in the ancient Greywood, hunters travel north in pursuit of a legend.
For centuries, stories have told of the White Stag - a creature whose death brings prestige, power, and recognition from the crown. When Lord Edrin Harrow assembles a hunting party to claim the prize, seasoned hunters, trackers, priests, and hounds ride into the forest believing they are the predators.
But the Greywood is older than the kingdom.
Brigid Fen, the party's tracker, quickly senses something is wrong. The forest is too quiet. The animals behave as though something already rules these woods. Tracks appear where none should be. Herds explode in blind panic. And at night, something large moves just beyond the firelight.
