An unexpected nova misdirects the Starship Aspiration to a star system 200 light years from the nearest jump gate. Stranded in an unexplored system, the crew and colonists of the Aspiration have no way to return to civilization and no hope of rescue....

Ronald D Ferguson also writes YA fiction under the pen name R D Ferguson. He taught college mathematics for many years and published 4 mathematics textbooks during those years. An active member of the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers Association, he now writes full-time, both fiction and non-fiction. His short fiction has appeared in numerous venues.
