This book covers every important cybersecurity job certification, several college programs, and many ways to socially network your way into entering the industry.
Some of the cybersecurity job roles covered in this book include: SOC and security analysts, pentesters, CISOs, security architects and engineers, digital forensics and incident response, GRC (governance, risk, and compliance), secure software developers, and security team leaders.
More details
Person
I'm a former cybersecurity professor at OPIT, the Open Institute of Technology. I'm the author of a handful of books through major commercial publishers including:
The Pentester Blueprint (co-authored with Phillip Wylie, published by Wiley Tech)
8 Steps to Better Security (published by Wiley Tech)
Hacker Culture: A to Z (published by O'Reilly Media)
Cloud Penetration Testing (published by Packt Publishing)
In my spare time, I love to read biographies and memoirs about popstars from the last quarter of the 20th century, play PC games (No Man's Sky and PowerWash Simulator 2 are recent favourites of mine, but I still love JRPGs), eat Triscuits in bed while having Japanese lessons, and question the entirety of mainstream collective "wisdom" and delusions. That later tendency makes me very unpopular.
I founded Stop Gen AI (stopgenai.com) in May, but it's my comrades in the group who provide value to our organization.
Please check out my Linktree to see my full body of work, including various whitepapers and blogs that I've written for tech companies, and my books.
System requirements
File format: ePUB
Copy protection: Adobe-DRM (Digital Rights Management)
System requirements:
- Computer (Windows; MacOS X; Linux): Install the free reader Adobe Digital Editions prior to download (see eBook Help).
- Tablet/smartphone (Android; iOS): Install the free app Adobe Digital Editions or the app PocketBook before downloading (see eBook Help).
- E-reader: Bookeen, Kobo, Pocketbook, Sony, Tolino and many more (not Kindle).
The file format ePub works well for novels and non-fiction books – i.e., „flowing” text without complex layout. On an e-reader or smartphone, line and page breaks automatically adjust to fit the small displays.
This eBook uses Adobe-DRM, a „hard” copy protection. If the necessary requirements are not met, unfortunately you will not be able to open the eBook. You will therefore need to prepare your reading hardware before downloading.
Please note: We strongly recommend that you authorise using your personal Adobe ID after installation of any reading software.
