About the Author
Robert P. Chappell, Jr., grew up with a passion for baseball. As a young boy, he played in both t-shirt and little leagues. While playing high school baseball, Robert participated in the Babe Ruth League, which revealed his talent to scouts with the Cincinnati Reds. After contemplating an incredible offer, Robert chose to forego his dream of playing baseball to dedicate his life to public service.
Robert graduated from Radford University in Virginia with a degree in Criminal Justice. He selected a career path of service in law enforcement and the U.S. Army Reserve. While serving in the military, Robert obtained his Master of Science in Strategic Studies at the U.S. Army War College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania.
The Blacksburg Police Department in Virginia hired Robert as a police officer in 1985. After working two years, Robert was hired by the Virginia State Police where he worked for over thirty-six years, retiring as a State Police Captain.
Robert retired from the U.S. Army Reserve as a Lieutenant Colonel after twenty-five years, including deployment during Operation Iraqi Freedom. He is the recipient of numerous military awards, including the Bronze Star and the Combat Action Badge.
Robert has authored four books, Child Identity Theft: What Every Parent Needs to Know (Roman & Littlefield), Rock Painting Therapy: A Soldier's Journey to Improved Mental Health (Gatekeeper Press), The Patriot Pitcher (Gatekeeper Press), and The Time Traveling Scoreboard (Gatekeeper Press).
Robert and his family live in Virginia.
