He was recently awarded with the Distinguished Scientist Award-2023 and Eminent Scientist Award-2023.

He holds a Ph.D. in Agricultural Entomology from GB Pant University of Agriculture & Technology, Pantnagar, India, and was awarded Dr. DS Kothari UGC-Post Doctoral Fellowship in 2010.
