Clemency Burton-Hill, MBE, is an award-winning broadcaster, podcaster, author, journalist and musician. At BBC Radio 3's Breakfast Show she welcomed a new audience to classical music, and for over a decade she was also host of BBC's Culture Show, the Proms, Young Musician of the Year, Classical Fix and other flagship arts programmes. Her journalism has appeared in the Economist, Financial Times, Sunday Times, Guardian, Observer and Vogue and she is the author of four books.
An award-winning violinist, Clemency has performed all over the world under leading conductors including Daniel Barenboim. She is the co-founder of Aurora Orchestra and a patron of various arts and education charities, including Music Masters.
She survived a catastrophic brain haemorrhage in 2020, and now campaigns to improve recovery for those affected by brain injury. A native of London, UK, Clemency currently lives with her family in Washington, DC.
