[Time becomes Eternity. Mourning Sermons]
From Rudolf Bultmann's time in Marburg fifteen mourning sermons and two remembrance speeches are preserved. They offer comfort from the belief that the dead are in God's hand. This does not smooth over the serverity of loss, yet directs the view on eternity as the end of our earthly wanderings. The believer anticipates already in its hope what will be fulfilled in the beatific vision of God.
Gratitude ist expressed in the mourning sermons for what was given to the mourners by the life that ended and what can now become their internal possession through their remembrance. At the same time Bultmann forgoes an adjudication, since this is exclusively entitled to God. It is from God's grace that death turns to be the gate into life.

The file format PDF always displays a book page identically on any hardware. This makes PDF suitable for complex layouts such as those used in textbooks and reference books (images, tables, columns, footnotes). Unfortunately, on the small screens of e-readers or smartphones, PDFs are rather annoying, requiring too much scrolling.
This eBook uses Watermark-DRM, a „soft” copy protection. This means that there are no technical restrictions to prevent illegal distribution. However, there is a personalised watermark embedded in the eBook that can be used to identify the purchaser of the eBook in the event of misuse and to provide evidence for legal purposes.
