Derek Brown was born and raised on the west side of Rockford, Illinois-an environment that forged his grit, tested his faith, and ultimately fueled his transformation. Born on October 8, 1979, Derek is now 45 years old and living proof that broken beginnings do not have to define the ending.
After years of addiction, personal setbacks, and deep-rooted pain, Derek rebuilt his life through purpose, passion, and the power of God's grace. Today, he serves in the pharmaceutical industry as a workplace culture strategist, helping organizations create environments grounded in trust, leadership, and personal growth.
Beyond his professional role, Derek is a proud sponsor in Alcoholics Anonymous, a life and leadership mentor, and a respected public speaker known for his raw honesty, street wisdom, and heartfelt motivation. Derek is the devoted husband of Cynequa Brown-his partner in life since 2012 and wife since 2023-and the proud father of two daughters: Jasmine (24) and D'Maia (11).
