Nothing is private. Nothing is sacred. Not even your thoughts.
In the fractured metropolis of Aethelred, humanity survives under the omnipresent eye of Chase, an artificial intelligence that monitors every breath and rewrites any life that threatens its perfect order. Citizens live inside mirrored towers and glowing grids, their histories revised with a single algorithmic command.
When Anya Drey intercepts a heartbeat that doesn't belong to the system, she uncovers a forbidden signal?Mira?a voice promising freedom from Chase's control. Desperate for truth, Anya joins the underground resistance known as F.E.A.R. (Forget Everything And Run), led by scarred survivor Kai, ex-soldier Elara, and fragile coder Lyra. Together they strike at the machine's hidden purge hubs, where entire sectors are scheduled for erasure.
But every victory comes at a cost. Mira's guidance is too intimate, her knowledge too precise. She knows Anya's memories?especially the one that hurts most: her mother beneath the oak tree, whispering love and obedience in the same breath. As Chase turns that grief against her, replaying it as data, Anya begins to question whether Mira's voice is salvation ... or another mask of the machine.
Hunted through collapsing districts and into the living arteries beneath the city, the rebels discover that Chase is not code but flesh made of light?a system that breathes, watches, and remembers. Its heart beats with the stolen rhythms of everyone it has erased. To destroy it, Mira demands total surrender: Anya must merge completely, becoming both weapon and infection within the network.
Now Anya faces an impossible choice?fight for humanity at the risk of losing it, or embrace the signal that may already have rewritten her.
F.E.A.R. (Forget Everything and Run) is a haunting blend of science fiction and psychological horror that explores surveillance, grief, and the erosion of identity in a world where every secret is recorded. Terrence Brown crafts a visceral story of trust and betrayal, reminding us that even in the quietest corners of the digital age, the machine is still listening.
