The Nature of Research
Description
Alles über E-Books | Antworten auf Fragen rund um E-Books, Kopierschutz und Dateiformate finden Sie in unserem Info- & Hilfebereich.
The Nature of Research looks at this background and discusses what is wrong with academic research and discusses what is wrong with academic research today, what needs to change for it to survive, how to allow new kinds of research to flourish, directions for future action and how academic research can teach us to live in today's complex and uncertain society.
The aim of the book, then, is to provide a stimulus to thinking about the nature and role of research with a view to considering what might be appropriate in the next century. Since research is so central to university life, looking at research will tell us much about what the university of the future might be like.
Reviews / Votes
'I just wanted to tell you how very much I enjoyed reading your book. Although the subject matter is difficult, it is so well written that I was able to read it cover to cover virtually as a novel.' - Roger Brown, Principal, Southampton Institute'To say that this book is stimulating would be a massive understatement. It should be required reading for all those concerned with trying to understand academic notions of research, including all researchers. I would add that it is beautifully written; I found myself reading it from cover to cover, almost in a single sitting.' - Roger Brown, Studies in Higher Education
'Addressed to the academic community, but in content and style it merits a wider readership' - Michael Duffy, TES 'To say that this book is stimulating would be a massive understatement.
