Person
received his PhD from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and postdoctoral training at Harvard Medical School before moving to the UK. Since then, he has been employed as a research scientist by the Medical Research Council, working at laboratories in London and in Cambridge. At various times he has served as visiting professor at the University of Otago at Washington University and at the California Institute of Technology. His research interests include neurobiology, cell biology, and the emerging field of computational cell biology. He is a co-author of the best-selling texts Molecular Biology of the Cell and Essential Cell Biology by Alberts et al.
