Write with confidence, starting today
Would you like to make writing easier, as well more enjoyable? What if you discovered how to become a confident writer?
You can become confident, more quickly than you can imagine.
It took me years to become a confident writer
Looking back, it took me at least a decade and a half to become a writer who could sit down and write any project from go to whoa-with confidence.
Slowly, imperceptibly, I changed from someone who cried real tears whenever I sat down at my typewriter, to someone whose default setting was writing.
One day I realized that I started each day writing and most days finished the day with writing as well. Writing no longer fazed me. I was excited to jump out of bed each day and write.
Recently, to help those of my writing students who hated writing and feared it, I wondered what I do differently today, from all those years ago when writing scared me. It took a while, but finally I realized… I could write with confidence, for one simple reason: I wrote. Consistently; daily. I got my thoughts out of my head and onto the computer screen, or onto paper. I did so much writing, that finally, writing became no big deal.
I could start writing without any clue about what I wanted to write, or should write. As bestselling author Louis L'Amour put it: "Start writing, no matter what. The water does not flow until the faucet is turned on."
The exercises in this guide will help you to turn the faucet on and keep it on.
The exercises are easy and quick (fun, too)
Here's the guide's structure: it contains 20 writing strategies. Each strategy has an accompanying exercise-some have a couple of exercises.
The exercises help you to put the strategy into action.
If you want to write with confidence, you can. Start today.
