The Fundamentals of Design Management is a dynamic publication that delivers exactly what it says on the tin. The second of two books by Kathryn Best, [this book] is a critical addition to any aspiring design manager's library. It would also serve as a valuable reference tool for any business leader who wishes to successfully harness the power of design. * Gethin Roberts, Engineering Designer, July 2010 * Highly relevant and very pleased with this book. * Eunkyong Baek, Design Theory Department, De Montfort University, UK * As with other AVA publications The Fundamentals of Design Management clearly articulates all elements and processes involved. The design and layout of the book adds to its appeal as our learners find this kind of visual engagement both stimulating and inspiring. The use of case studies to evidence how Design Management works for specific brands is well constructed and communicated. The images used also help to support the accompanying commentaries. The statistical and diagrammatical information is also very easy for students to understand and decipher. * Simon Gomes, Course Leader (BA (Hons) Graphic Design), University Centre Doncaster, UK * An excellent publication, compares well to other titles as there are few up-to-date texts on this subject. Good layout, clear and easy to access. * James Fathers, York St John University, UK * Suitable content for an initial course ... The content is complemented by other authors and titles such as Design Management and Vision and Values. * Lissette Marin Moguel, Anahuac Mayab, Mexico * An excellent overall introduction to Design Management. Covers all areas that our program includes. * Judith Gregory, George Brown College, Canada * I like the layout of the book, and find the content useful and relevant. * Kelly Sant, University of Brighton, UK * I really like this book's layout and mix of resources. It is clear in delivering coverage of key areas. A well laid-out, attractive design, giving a good insight into the practice of design for business students. * Eric Cassells, Oxford Brookes University, UK * The clear demarcation of design in correlation to various fields and demonstrative case studies give this book an edge. It helps to clearly explain the topic to students and they gain clarity for further research in similar areas. * Preetha Hussain , National Institute of Fashion Technology, India * Great book ... great finance section! I think that AVA is the only company making design management books for students. * Christian Lystager , KEA, Denmark * Excellent book. Product design is just one part of the process. Dealing with Economics, Finance, Accounting, Marketing, Branding, Innovation and other important aspects is something that a professional must know how to do it. The coverage of this subjects, aggregated in the same resource for easiness of consultation, is a very good strategy. The contents are a must but the content design helps a lot to find and read the texts. The case studies help a lot to demonstrate the concepts being transmitted with real situations where they were applied. The quality of the materials - namely the paper - transforms it in a resource to buy and to keep. The value of this book is connecting design management with other functions of the company. I find the approach to the topic interesting. Many examples and case studies (especially european) are valuable for lecturers as well as for students.More details

The file format PDF always displays a book page identically on any hardware. This makes PDF suitable for complex layouts such as those used in textbooks and reference books (images, tables, columns, footnotes). Unfortunately, on the small screens of e-readers or smartphones, PDFs are rather annoying, requiring too much scrolling.
This eBook uses Adobe-DRM, a „hard” copy protection. If the necessary requirements are not met, unfortunately you will not be able to open the eBook. You will therefore need to prepare your reading hardware before downloading.
