Safeguarding children is one of the most important responsibilities we share across agencies, communities, and professions. The Working Together to Safeguard Children (2023) guidance represents a pivotal step forward, calling on all of us to move beyond siloed practice, embrace whole-family approaches, and strengthen collaboration at every level.
Yet guidance alone is not enough. What matters most is how professionals translate policy into everyday action ? in classrooms, clinics, homes, communities, and boardrooms. That is where children and families experience the impact of our decisions, and where safeguarding truly takes shape.
This book offers exactly what is needed at this moment: clear explanations of the 2023 changes, practical tools to apply them, and insights that bring the guidance to life across sectors. It is written not just to inform, but to empower ? so that every practitioner, leader, and partner feels confident in their role.
By turning words into practice, we move closer to a system where safeguarding is consistent, compassionate, and effective ? for every child, in every family, everywhere.
