Naba Barkakati, an electrical engineer and a successfulcomputer-book author, has experience in a wide variety of systems,ranging from MS-DOS and Windows to UNIX and Linux. He bought hisfirst personal computer--an IBM PC-AT--in 1984 aftergraduating with a Ph.D. in electrical engineering from theUniversity of Maryland at College Park.
