Person
Dr. Muhammad Asif is Professor at the King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals. He has completed his Ph.D. in Applied Energy Engineering from Edinburgh Napier University in 2002. Dr. Asif is also a certified Chartered Engineer (UK), Certified Energy Manager (AEE, USA), Member of the Energy Institute (UK) and Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (UK). He sits on several international energy forums including the accreditation panel of the Energy Institute. His areas of research interests include renewable energy, energy policy, sustainable development and life cycle assessment. He has authored over 100 research publications. He has extensively worked on energy issues faced by South Asian countries, in particular, by Pakistan and India. He has also authored a book "Energy Crisis in Pakistan: Origins, Challenges and Pakistan", published by Oxford University Press in 2011. His co-edited book 'Dynamics of Energy, Environment and Economy: A Sustainability Perspective' is due to be published by Springer in November 2019. He has thus far led research projects worth £14 million. His work has been referred to in various European policy documents and directives. He has provided consultancy services to a number of prominent international organizations including European Commission, Nor-Dan (Norway) and BAE Systems (UK). He has conducted teaching and training activities in Austria, Finland, Germany, Oman, Pakistan, Spain and Turkey.
