He is currentlyProfessor of Electrical Engineering and Deputy Head of theUniversity College. His research interests lie in the fields ofvideo coding, error resilience of compressed digital video, andcoding of remotely sensed data, and he is an Associate Editor ofthe IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems for VideoTechnology.
Michael Frater, PhD, has been with the University of New SouthWales at the Australian Defence Force Academy, Canberra, since1991, where he is currently an Associate Professor in the School ofInformation Technology and Electrical Engineering. His researchinterests include audio-visual communications and communicationssystems.
Mark Pickering, PhD, is a Senior Lecturer in the School ofInformation Technology and Electrical Engineering with theUniversity of New South Wales at the Australian Defence ForceAcademy, Canberra. His research interests include video and audiocoding, data compression, information security, data networks, anderror-resilient data transmission.
