Description
Over the years among the many poems and stories I have written, I have felt compelled to write of the experience of soldiers. I was a little too young during the era of the Vietnam conflict, saw all the news growing up and managed to miss the last draft lottery with a 176. They only drafted to 45 that year.
Regardless of my story, these pages are about the stories of those who served in places like Vietnam, Gettysburg, the Battle of Britain, the Frozen Chosin, the mountains of Afghanistan, and the sands of Iraq. I have listened intently to many stories, felt the excitement, terror, and sadness; the full gamut of emotions, in all of them.
