As the sun rose on the morning of June 6, 2044, 100 years after the D-Day landing, it ushered in a new age of American governance devoid of politicians and political parties, administered solely by next-generation artificial Intelligence technology. Eclipsed by China a decade earlier as the dominant world power, Americans had been steadily losing faith in their form of government and vaunted Constitution. When a crazy national crisis descends out of the blue, it precipitates a complete collapse of the political system, leading the country to courageously embrace AI as a more effective form of governance. With the endless bickering of politicians and warring parties gone, a new sense of optimism spreads throughout the country. Finally, a system was in place that would enable the U.S. to solve the societal problems that had been festering for decades and re-assert its global leadership.
But one corrupt politician does not want to go down easily, and plots to subvert the new governance system with the help of a beautiful Chinese spy and the rival Chinese government. The only way for the U.S. to regain its preeminence is to place its full faith and trust in its new AI system, as the conflict degenerates into a first-of-its-kind AI World War.
PAX AI is a visionary novel in the spirit of Kurt Vonnegut's Player Piano and Albert Brooks's 2030 that transports the reader into a futuristic new world order.
