On a steaming hot July morning in a wealthy neighborhood in Minneapolis, Minnesota, a man is found dead at the bottom of a backyard swimming pool. Was it murder? Suicide? Or, as several individuals close to the deceased propose, just an accident. Veteran Detective Isaac Scott and his partners set out to find the answers, but they quickly discover that while everyone is willing to talk, the stories don't line up. They come to realize that those who really knew the deceased each have a vested interest in keeping his memory unblemished. What are they all hiding?
Detective Scott must sort through the colliding stories to determine the underlying truth. Aided by a tip from the Medical Examiner, Isaac knows what he's looking for, but it escapes him at every turn.
This is the third book in the series featuring Detective Issac Scott.
