Description
Informatics in Primary Care is the house journal of BCS Health, the health informatics specialist group of BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT. It publishes high-quality research papers, literature reviews and letters from both researchers and practitioners in the fields of social care, health and clinical informatics. Its focus is on informatics research from the front lines of health care and how informatics can support innovation in health and health care.
It looks to publish articles about how computers and information technology can be incorporated into clinical workflow and be used to measure quality and health outcomes. The journal is interested in how computerised medical records can better record the clinical status of patients and can be used to measure the quality, safety and efficiency of health care professionals and organisations - including primary care, hospital, mental health, and social and community care. The scope of the journal also includes integrated care and how genetic data might be used to enhance health care. Both qualitative and quantitative research are considered.
