WochenKlausur, an activist group of artists, has been successfully carrying out social projects since 1993. Exhibition space serves as an office and one will search in vain for a work of art. What is achieved instead by a few weeks of concentrated effort are concrete improvements for the underprivileged. The ten cases of successful intervention presented here illustrate a different option for art, taking it beyond the usual market-orientated mechanisms.
