Description
This volume is a study of the Chinese library system based upon on-site visits, in-depth interviews and extensive research. The author interviewed library directors and librarians, discussing the various aspects of new changes and developments. Primary research was undertaken in four major libraries in China: Peking University Library, National Library of China (the largest research library in China), Beijing, Fudan University Library, Shanghai and Nanjing University Library where data was collected in both Chinese and English. This study also includes an assessment of the overall development of each library.
