Person
Yong Suk Yang is a professor emeritus in the Nano Energy Engineering Department, former dean of the College of NanoScience and NanoTechnology, and former director of the Research Center of Dielectric and Advanced Materials at Pusan National University. He received Ph.D. in solid-state physics in 1990 from McGill University, Montreal. He has been a faculty member since 1993. He has been working at neutron- and synchrotron radiation-related international facilities, NSLS, APS, SSRL, Oak Ridge (USA), AECL (Canada), SPring8 (Japan), Riso (Denmark), KAERI (Korea). He has published various articles on the phase transitions of structural order-disorder, low dimensional antiferromagnet, glass crystallization, dielectric relaxation, and negative thermal expansion. Multiferroics, solid oxide fuel cells, and lithium-ion batteries are also his recent interests. He has taught under and graduate students over 30 subjects, including quantum mechanics, statistics, solid-state physics, thin films, semiconductors, thermal physics, ceramics, dielectrics, and modern physics.
