John L. Worrall is Professor of Criminology and Program Head at the University of Texas at Dallas. He has published articles and book chapters on a wide range of topics ranging from legal issues in policing to crime measurement. He is also the author of several books, including Crime Control in America: What Works? (3rd ed., Pearson, forthcoming) and Criminal Procedure: From First Contact to Appeal (5th ed., Pearson, forthcoming), coauthor, with Larry Siegel, of Introduction to Criminal Justice (14th ed., Cengage, 2014) and Essentials of Criminal Justice (9th ed., Cengage, forthcoming), and co-editor of The Changing Role of the American Prosecutor (SUNY, 2009). He currently serves as editor of the journal Police Quarterly.
