Description
This is the third in MPP's biennial series aimed at helping practicing medical physicists, technically-inclined physicians, and other interested professionals stay current in medical radiation science and technology. This volume covers 18 new and important topics in diagnostic imaging and radiation therapy.
MRI gets strong treatment in this volume, with Jiachen Zhuo and Rao Gullapalli's chapter on MRI artifiacts paired with Eftychios Christoforou and Nikolaos Tsekos' chapter describing robotic systems for MRI-guided interventions. Quality control is also featured, including chapters by Evan Boote and Sandra Larson on ultrasound QC and a chapter on mammography QC by Douglas Pfeiffer. There is also a chapter with the latest on how medical and public health practicioners should respond to a major radiologic emergency.
