Amos Winter is Germeshausen Professor of Mechanical Engineering and director of the K. Lisa Yang Global Engineering and Research (GEAR) Center at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. GEAR Center focuses on solving technical challenges in poor countries, with notable successes in drip irrigation, water purification, agricultural equipment, and assistive technology. Winter works with the Tata Group, Mahindra, Pepsi, SUEZ, Ferrari, and UNICEF, among others.
