Description
This volume offers information to wine-lovers about Spain's wine regions and producers. For each key region the book explores its characteristics and winemaking history, lists producers, wines and places of interest in an A-Z format, and features a map of the wine zones. Each region's gastronomic specialities, with suggested wines to match, are also listed, and there are tips on restaurants and hotels for those visiting the area. In the introduction, the author explains the anatomy of Spanish wine and gives information about laws and labels to demystify the wide range of official seals and terms. There are also some tips for visitors ordering drinks in Spain. Much information is offered on the wines of Spain from old favourites, such as Rioja and Navarra, to newer varieties, like Ribera del Duero and Priorat, as well as sherries, spirits and liqueurs.
