Description
This kit offers opportunities for cross-curricular work on history, science, geography, maths and art. Pupils learn about life in the past while developing skills essential to historical study, such as how to sequence events, assess evidence, and make deductions, comparisons and decisions. The kit includes a teacher's book, "Help!" cards, project planner cards, a wallchart and four books. The teacher's book is a guide to using the kit and features projects on going underground, dinosaur definitions, technological changes and exploring evolution. The seven full-colour, laminated "Help!" cards cover: finding information, recording information, presenting your work, writing, writing a story, creating a museum and looking at sources. The 12 two-sided project planner cards are photocopiable and include projects such as brainstorming and planning ahead. The books included are: from the "Windows on the World" series, "Prehistoric Life", and from the "Eyewitness" series, "Fossil", "Dinosaur" and "Early People". A storage box is also included in the kit.
