Description
Handbook of Research on Functional Materials: Principles, Capabilities and Limitations covers a broad range of modern materials and provides industry professionals and researchers in polymer science and technology with a single, comprehensive book summarizing all aspects involved in the modern materials production chain. The book focuses on industrially important materials, analytical techniques, and formulation methods, with chapters covering step-growth, radical, and co-polymerization, crosslinking and grafting, reaction engineering, advanced technology applications, including conjugated, dendritic, and nanomaterial polymers and emulsions, and characterization methods, which includes spectroscopy, light scattering, and microscopy.
The book introduces current state-of-the-art technology in modern materials with an emphasis on the rapidly growing technologies. It takes a unique approach by presenting specific materials and then progresses into a discussion of the ways in which these materials and processes are integrated into today's functioning manufacturing industry. It follows a more quantitative and design-oriented approach than other texts in the market, helping readers gain a better understanding of important concepts. Readers will also discover how material properties relate to the process variables in a given process as well as how to perform quantitative engineering analysis of manufacturing processes.
