Valerie Wiffen studies at the Royal College of Art in London under such luminaries as Ruskin Spear and Colin Hayes. On graduation, she won the Drawing Prize and has maintained a professional practice of drawing ever since, leading to many portrait commissions and a career in drawing and painting. Valerie has taught drawing and painting for many years, and also exhibits her work at the New English Art Club, The Royal Academy Summer Show, and other mixed shows. Her previous books include Ways of Drawing Faces and Portraits, Ways of Drawing the Human Figure, and Figure Sketching School.
