Exploring the USA

This short topic book is designed to provide up-to-date resources for a detailed investigation of the USA. Beyond the requirements of the National Curriculum, it provides a broad contemporary geography, including population, physical contrasts in landscape, climate, energy, industry and travel. The book is a mix of resources and activities, combining to provide an insight into the USA. It includes a comparative study of the three "world powers", and then looks in detail at the USA, the land and its people. It develops a number of physical, human and environmental themes, such as climate, vegetation, natural hazards, trade, energy and industry. The book is structured in units containing a mix of text, resources and activities. Pupils should be able to develop a real feel for the country, while building up an in-depth knowledge at the same time.
