Description
Each of us, from time to time gets stuck. We get stuck on life issues and challenges that may seem trivial but are so hard to navigate and move beyond. Take simple moments like trying to find the right word to express one's thoughts, choosing when to say enough to a person or situation, trying to stay buoyed in inclement weather, or even getting up the energy to travel. What about more dramatic challenges like deciding to start something new or reflecting on whether you have been successful in life. These and many more confront us near daily. In On LIFE: Thoughts on Life's Challenges, Dr. Harvey J. White brings personal experience and his 30 years as a cardiologist to each of us in an easy to read book which addresses these and other challenges. Moreover, he encourages us to reach beyond the solutions he poses and craft our own. For that the engaged reader will be well rewarded.

For the past thirty years Dr. Harvey J. White has dedicated himself to direct patient care, clinical research, and leadership activities designed to improve both individual lives and our healthcare delivery system.
Building on a career in interventional cardiology, including the acute treatment of heart attack and stroke patients, Dr. White is the founder and executive director of Vessel Health, a medical enterprise pioneering prevention in the achievement of cardiovascular well-being. Former creator and medical director of the Heart Hospital of New Mexico, he has served as president of the Greater Albuquerque Medical Association, governor of the American College of Cardiology, president of the American Heart Association, and leader of the Southwest Heart Foundation.
Anchored in a profession that began as a fix-it approach for episodic health challenges, Dr. White has concluded that we, as individuals and as a society, must enhance our focus on prevention and take a proactive approach to maintaining the health of our circulatory system and promoting our personal well-being. Through Vessel Health he supports his commitment to heart health as well as to the health of the greater community. His philosophy in a nutshell: "Treat the system, not the symptom."
