Description
My project investigates the process that current management ¿teams¿ use to create educational environments. Through analysis and synthesis of the information I collect from case study research and literature reviews, I wish to engage in discourse that celebrates and evaluates the incumbent design process, and develop theories that will help to inform future educational environments by enhancing management strategies. Community college presidents, boards of trustees, and legislators all over the country are faced with the dilemma of having learning facilities that are reaching the end of their useful and safe life spans at the same time resources for new capital construction or renovation are limited. Examples of the need for new or improved facilities are the following: ¿ Improve conditions in which people can learn ¿ Changes in educational theory and pedagogy ¿ Global developments in technology ¿ Changes in building design practices and materials
