This single volume of Scottish poetry presents all the major and minor poets from the 14th century to the present. Unlike other collections, this anthology includes dual text Gaelic translations, brief biographical introductions to the writers and a broad chronological span. Including poetry written in Scots, Gaelic and English, it has clear notes and glossaries on Scots words and all Gaelic translations are contemporary. The contents are listed both chronologically and thematically according to the subject of the poem.
