While this is a valuable contribution to the philosophy of expertise, it is not only for philosophers. This is an excellent book for both research and teaching purposes, with something to offer those looking for a comprehensive introduction to expertise as it has been theorized across philosophy, psychology, and sociology, as well as those of us who specialize in these disciplines and could use some help escaping our epistemic bubbles and echo chambers. * Metapsychology * Jamie Carlin Watson's book at once lives up to its title by offering a rigorous yet highly readable overview of the philosophical discussion surrounding expertise, and exceeds expectations by at the same time presenting an original and attractive account of what it is to be an expert. * Spontaneous Generations * If anyone doubted the importance of expertise in modern life, or the complexities of dealing with it, the current world circumstances will have changed their mind.
