This is a revised and updated edition of a textbook covering the numerical solution of the complete range of partial differential equations and containing numerous examples and exercises. The changes made here reflect the advances made in finite element methods since publication of the first edition, and include the addition of a new final chapter outlining new areas where finite element methods are applied and the addition of new examples and exercises.
