Landis Wade is a recovering trial lawyer who writes mysteries and legal thrillers. He founded the popular Charlotte Readers Podcast (where he interviewed more than 500 authors), and lives in North Carolina, where he grew up, went to school, practiced law, and learned to write. Deadly Declarations, his first novel in the Indie Retirement Mystery series, won ten awards, including Winner in the 2022 American Fiction Awards in the Cozy Mystery category, and Winner in the Mystery category in the 17th Annual National Indie Excellence Awards. His love of history led to this series. His book The Christmas Redemption won the Holiday category of the 12th Annual National Indie Excellence Awards. He won the 2016 North Carolina State Bar short story contest for The Deliberation and received awards for his non-fiction pieces, The Cape Fear Debacle and First Dance.
