Jules Gabriel Verne (8 February 1828 - 24 March 1905) was a French writer who pioneered the science fiction genre. Notable amongst his works are "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea", "Around the World in 80 Days" and "A Journey to the Centre of the Earth". Henry Carl Kiefer (15 April 1890 - 10 May 1957) was born in Ohio and served in WWI. He started contributing to Classics Illustrated Comics in 1947 and went on to contribute to 34 issues.
