Description
For more than a year, the grizzliest murder in the history of the normally sleepy, mid-cities town of Hurst, Texas has gone unsolved. With the case growing colder by the day and desperate for any kind of breakthrough, the victim's mother turns to private investigators Donovan Bay and Michelle Bentley. They dig in immediately, but the more they dig, the worse the victim looks, the more potential suspects they find, and the deeper the mystery becomes. SECOND WEDNESDAY is the debut novel from veteran graphic novelist J.C. Vaughn (24, Stargate Atlantis, Vampire, PA).
Reviews / Votes
"Detectives, conspiracies, disillusionment, corpses, mysteries andeven an amazing nod to the noir films I love the most. This may be J.C. Vaughn's
first novel, but... wait, dammit. How can this be his first
novel?"
JIM KRUEGER
Writer of Earth X, Marvels X,
and Justice,
Creator/Writer of The Foot Soldiers and The
No Ones "J.C. Vaughn has been one of the top names in mystery comics for
years. His debut prose novel is definitely not to be missed!"
JOHN JACKSON MILLER
Author of Kenobi, Star Wars: Knight
Errant,
and the Star Trek: Prey series "Lean, muscular, vivid prose in the best noir tradition. J.C. Vaughn puts
you in the room with his characters."
ROBERT TINNELL
Writer/Director of Feast of the Seven
Fishes "J.C. Vaughn's SECOND WEDNESDAY is a romp of a private eye novel -
packed with the elements you need for this kind of story to succeed: character,
setting, and tone. Donovan Bay is both an iconic and fresh protagonist, and
SECOND WEDNESDAY is the gripping mystery we all deserve. A compelling
debut."
ALEX SEGURA
Acclaimed author of Star Wars Poe Dameron:
Free Fall,
Miami Midnight, Blackout, and more. "J.C. Vaughn has taken the torch from Lee Child and used it to set
the Crime/Mystery world aflame like it was Devil's Night in Detroit, 1994.
SECOND WEDNESDAY is ground- and bone-breaking, meaning this is where the shovel
meets the dirt, where the bones are buried. His use of dialogue and story makes
me wish crime really did pay,
because I would steal his ideas and make them
my own."
BEAU SMITH
Creator and Writer of Wynonna
Earp "This is Texas Noir at it's finest. A true page-turner that would
make Dashiell Hammett smile. Fast-paced and addictive, SECOND WEDNESDAY never
stops giving, and it needs to be the next big Netflix series! I want more Bay
and Benson!"
BILLY TUCCI
Creator/writer/artist of Shi: The Way of
the Warrior,
Writer /artist of Sgt. Rock: The Lost
Battalion
