Knowledge for Nursing

This text aims to bring together introductory information drawn from various disciplines and scattered through the literature that have a bearing on nursing practice. It will help nurses acquire a basic understanding of various ways to explore human nature and health, whether from biological, sociological or psychological perspectives, and to identify the way these sources of knowledge apply specifically to the practice of nursing. The first part presents current thinking and discussions within the boundaries of different disciplines. In the second part practitioners interpret the implications of this for nursing practice within multi-disciplinary settings and for generating new knowledge for nursing.
