Cable Nets

The Detail in Building series provides a foundation of contemporary design data covering key elements of building design. Cable Nets is the fifth title in the series. Opening with a definition of tension structures in general, the book then provides an overview of the history of cable nets, the different types commonly used, and their advantages and applications. It then focuses on detailed design decisions relating to cables, claddings, fixings, joints, sealants and anti-corrosion measures, as well as providing information on contracting,fabrication, erection and costs.
This is followed by nine case studies which reflect the best design and use of cable nets around the world.
