The Department of Emergency Health Services is an academic department within the College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences. The department provides undergraduate education resulting in the Bachelor of Science degree with concentrations in paramedic and EMS system management, and graduate education at the Master of Science level. Formerly a forensic psychologist, he is a clinical specialist in Cardiac Surgery and teaches Critical Care Medicine at Albany Medical College where he also co-chairs the Resuscitation Committee and serves on the Formulary Committee. Mr. McEvoy is a paramedic for Clifton Park-Halfmoon Ambulance, chief medical officer for West Crescent Fire Department, and past chair and current member of the New York State EMS Council. He is the Fire-EMS technical editor for Fire Engineering magazine and has authored numerous publications. Mr. McEvoy is a popular speaker at fire, EMS, and medical conferences throughout North America.
