Description
This anthology offers eighteen captivating pieces for stage, screen and radio. Each extract explores a distinct dimension of the writers' imaginations with a scope of situations and questions posed at each turn.
Amongst other locations, the writers take us from rural Ireland to suburban Delaware. From the moors around Stoodley Pike to a fishing village in the Philippines. From the coast of Scotland where Hitchcockian seagulls rain down revenge, to a space station falling into serious trouble.
Bear witness as a man believing his wife is unfaithful calls an advice line to hilarious effect. As a student learns new ways to harness political curiosity with the help of her headteacher and a woman tailors her own American citizenship test, challenging its legitimacy and ethics. These are only some of the fantastic stories told.
Introduced by James McDermott, with a foreword by Alice Nutter, the 2024 MA Scriptwriting cohort presents the full spectrum of comedy, tragedy and everything in between.
