This volume provides instructions for clinical medical students when they first approach patients. As well as general guidance, the text covers history-taking, how to perform a basic or full clinical examination, how to write up notes, how to present a patient and his problems, and how to carry out simple practical procedures. The book is designed to be used for direct reference at the bedside, and is suitable for revision of clinical technique before any clinical assessment.
