Description
Riding a Dressage Test demystifies the requirements for dressage competition at preliminary, novice and elementary levels. The international dressage judge, David Trott, explains in an easy-to-understand way exactly what the judge expects to see in the different movements of the tests. In addition, an example of each test movement is given, with comprehensive guidelines for riding the movements correctly. This book, together with its stable companion, Preparing for a Dressage Test, is essential reading for both trainers and riders and will help competitors to maximize their test-riding potential.

David Trott has been riding since childhood and was a Pony Club and Riding Club team competitor. He has also ridden in British Horse Society eventing, open team chases and FEI intermediate dressage. He first became a dressage judge at 21, was upgraded to a list one British dressage judge ten years later and in 1997 was accredited as an international candidate judge. David loves the challenge of teaching - some of his students compete at Grand Prix level - and he rides his own horses in dressage competitions. Penny Hillsdon has competed at Advanced and Grand Prix levels and trains dressage riders to medium/advanced level. She has written extensively for both British and American equestrian magazines and now concentrates more on writing books. Penny is also the author of Pathfinder Dressage.
