Das Buch ist ein Plädoyer für einen forschen Blick nach vorn und dabei zugleich bodenständig gehalten: gut lesbar, logisch aufgebaut und sehr kompakt - ganz im Sinne des ehemaligen UN-Generalsekretärs Ban Ki-moon, den die autoren im Buch auch zitieren: "träume groß, aber denke praktisch."
