Melisa Torres is the best-selling author of the Perfect Balance Gymnastics Series. She grew up in San Jose, California where she trained at Almaden Valley Gymnastics Club and participated in USA Gymnastics' competitive program for ten years. Melisa then earned her BS from Utah State University where she studied Psychology and Literature and competed for their NCAA Division 1 Gymnastics Team. Melisa was a two-time Academic All-American and team captain.Melisa currently lives in Utah and is a single mother to two teenage boys. She enjoys attending their mountain biking races and traveling with them. When Melisa is not parenting or writing she can be found weightlifting or partner dancing.
