Fields is a young tiger, who has not yet learned to hunt. Feeling like she should know how to by now, she sets off to practice; only to fail over and over. How would she ever be a tiger if she can't do this? How can she follow her instincts like she is told, and to become what her mother knows her to be? Despite her doubts and fears, she decides not to give up. Growing Fields is a book about a young tiger who wonders about her self-worth when she is unable do as a tiger is supposed to. It takes her time and error before she gains confidence. She loves her family, two brothers, and her mom; who teaches her how to hunt and be a tiger.
